Traceability Labels
What RunMark labels include
Every label generated by RunMark contains:
- Product name (SKU)
- Production date and time
- Line ID and line name
- Run/batch number
- Unit number (e.g. "Reel 1 of 12")
- Optional: company name, order/PO number
These fields provide a complete traceability record traceable back to a specific production run.
Label sizes
RunMark supports three label sizes:
| Size | Best for |
|---|---|
| 2×1 inch | Small products, individual unit tags |
| 3×2 inch | General purpose, most products |
| 4×2 inch | Pipe and cable — more space for spec detail |
RunMark generates PDF files. Any printer that can print PDFs can print RunMark labels — Zebra, SATO, desktop laser, inkjet. No special hardware or software is required.
Generating labels
- Go to Labels → Generate Labels
- Select the in-progress or complete schedule block you want to label
- Choose label size and enter the number of units (reels, coils, boxes, etc.)
- Click Generate PDF
- Download and print
The block must be in In Progress or Complete status. If the Generate button is grayed out, mark the Gantt block as in-progress first.
Label records
Every generation event is logged in the Labels list with timestamp, SKU, line, quantity of labels, and the user who generated. You can re-download any past label PDF at any time from this list.
This creates a permanent audit trail — useful for ISO audits, customer documentation requests, and quality investigations.
Reprinting labels
Find the label record in the Labels list → click Download PDF. The same PDF is regenerated from the stored record — the content is identical to the original.
Label printing tips
- Print a test label before a full run to verify alignment on your specific printer and label stock.
- Use the 4×2 size for pipe labels — the extra space makes long product specs readable.
- Set your printer driver to 100% scale — no "fit to page" or "shrink to fit". Scaling will change the label dimensions and may cause barcodes to not scan correctly.
